Everyone has their definition of success. For some, it can be a monetary success ( success in terms of money), it can be in sports, music, writing, programming, singing, exploring, research, entrepreneurship, or leadership. I may have missed out a lot because I know no writer is perfect.

I will reveal what I think success is at the end of the article, so please stick to it.

How success can be measured

Numbers or any measuring metrics can measure success. Like when we say Sachin Tendulkar is a great batsman in the game of cricket, we usually see his number of centuries, half-centuries, runs, etc.

Similarly, when we talk about singers, we measure their success by the number of people who like their songs. The list goes on.

Success can also be measured by one’s ability to reach their goal. There is a tiny line between success and talent. A talented person cannot be successful if he fails to hit the targets he sets for himself.

Consistency beats Talent

A talent is a person’s unique ability to perform a task. But the irony is that if a person is not talented but is consistent in performing a task, it will convert into a talent. This can be proved by the quotation, ” Practice makes the person perfect “

Happiness and satisfaction is an indicator of success

While you are reading the post, ask yourself whether you are happy. At the end of the day, if you are not happy and satisfied with what you do, you have to reconsider and redefine your meaning of success. Life is not about struggling; it’s about learning to adapt and enjoying the challenges that come in the way of success.

Success is not about racing with your competitors

Every journey towards success is different. You should focus on yourself, and the main competition you should have is with you.

Let’s take an example where 100 people are running a race, it’s obvious only one will win but what about the rest of 99 people? Should they think they are worthless, no there are two options either to prepare for the next race or move on to a different sport.

Make a habit of improving yourself with each passing day. You have to be the best version of yourself. Remember, your journey towards success is a solo race, except in the case where you are representing a community or the masses.

The sky is not the limit

You might have heard that when you touch the sky, you are successful. Expand your thoughts; it can be much more than that. It can be interpreted as it’s up to you how far you wanna reach. Age is not a bar, and learning is a continuous process.

Success is correlated with time

Ask yourself a question: What is the most precious thing in your life? The answer is time. Time waits for no one, so don’t waste it and put it to work, that will lead you towards success. You are missing a lot of opportunities that can make you successful with each passing moment.

In the end, if you do not put your time to work, you will regret it until you have discovered a time machine that takes you back in time, which is, of course, not possible.

Conclusion

The real meaning of success can vary greatly depending on individual beliefs, values, and goals. Generally, it’s considered to be the achievement of desired visions and planned goals.

However, success is not just about reaching a destination or acquiring material possessions; it’s also about the journey, personal growth, and the fulfillment one feels along the way.
